I drove up to Four Peaks today and made many contacts while overlooking the city. 15 meters was open to the east and signals were 10 over. The
Little Tarheel II antenna did a great job, getting me several 59 reports. I also worked 2 meter fm and usb as well as 70cm simplex back into the valley. The temp on top was 75 degrees when I left a little after dusk. Sure beats 110 down in Phoenix! Thanks for all the great contacts and I hope to do it again soon. 73.

ReplyDeleteIt was good talking to you from my car. I was pretty happy to get a 57 from you, given that I was in-car with an external whip antenna with 5 watts power, given the distance. These little Wouxun Chinese radios get the job done!
