Drove down to meet the 4x4HAM group south of Tucson for the annual Titan missile museum special event. This is our third year and it never ceases to amaze me how alive that antenna can make a radio become. This year I think we did the best on the number of contacts ever, close to 200 in just a few hours. It was great to see some old friends and make some new friends as a few guys from the green valley radio club stopped into pay us a visit. Special thanks to Virgil and Paul for getting this all set up. I will post a picture of the QSL card that Virgil will create for this year's event when I get one. Looking for to it again next year.

Mountain Top Mobile
I drove up to Four Peaks today and made many contacts while overlooking the city. 15 meters was open to the east and signals were 10 over. The
Little Tarheel II antenna did a great job, getting me several 59 reports. I also worked 2 meter fm and usb as well as 70cm simplex back into the valley. The temp on top was 75 degrees when I left a little after dusk. Sure beats 110 down in Phoenix! Thanks for all the great contacts and I hope to do it again soon. 73.

It has been a hot summer here in Arizona.
I have not posted in a while, not much going on. I moved and lost my HF antenna setup. Still trying put something together. I did have a great time at 4x4ham.com group up in the high country. Just letting whoever might see this know that I am still alive.

7 Area QSO Party

I worked the 7 Area QSO Party on Saturday. Made just under 100 contacts. Contacted 26 states from my simple 100 watt station to a wire dipole at 20ft.
I love the voice keyer on the Icom IC-7000. Makes contest calling effortless. I am not a big contester by any means but I like this one, the North American QSO Party and of course Field Day!!!
